Flower Jugs and Vases
I enjoy the challenge of making tall, narrow pieces on the wheel and always feel a sense of achievement when I unload one from the kiln. My flower jugs are a multipurpose pot that can be used as a conventional jug but also as a vessel to display flowers. They are tall with a narrow neck which makes them great for holding tall flowers. They also do a good job with shorter bunches as the narrow neck supports the bunch while the shorter stems dangle in the water below. I often use a watered down clay slip and my fingers to create a ridged texture for the glaze to pool on and then break over.
